BGSU's campus would not be the same without our friends on the PAWS Team! Now you can support our favorite furry friends with a calendar all about them, created by BGSU VCT Student Madelyn Grace Williams.
The PAWS Team was created in Spring 2022 as a student internship project.
PAWS stands for Partners in Achieving Wellness for Students, staff and faculty. All PAWS dogs are certified therapy dogs. Their owners are community members that volunteer their time to bring smiles to BGSU!
The program lives within the Office of Health and Wellness.
The team consists of over 20 therapy dog teams and 100 student volunteers. In 2023-2024 we hosted over 100 therapy dog visits on campus reaching 6,500 people. The volunteer program has an estimated economic impact of over $57,000.
Students can volunteer with the PAWS Team to assist at events.
We host weekly events on campus, and faculty, staff, and students can request visits through our website.
